National Safety Science Campaign 2019

In case of a burn, the affected tissue should be washed only with cold water, and never with ice. Ice, being a solid, is harder than liquid water, and the burnt tissue can get further damaged on coming into contact with the ice. Thus, ice does more harm than good to a burnt tissue. It should be then covered so that there is no exposure to the harmful pathogens in the air.
